The vehicle construction and drive technology of the future will be inextricably linked to rising demands in terms of environmental protection and the conservation of resources. Development departments are focusing on lightweight construction concepts based on thin-walled steels, aluminium alloys, plastics, composite materials etc.

Reduced masses and densities of the individual components result, at the same excitation frequency, in more sensitive structure-borne sound behaviour and higher noise radiation. MFK knit wire mesh solutions help to compensate for these negative characteristics in an ideal way. Following the principles of "Coulomb friction", the desired amplitude damping levels can be achieved by pairing together the material, type of wire and wire diameter, degree of deformation(mesh shape, corrugation ...) and part density.
