Prestranding units

MFK high-performance stranding units are volume means of production with a slightly broader quality range than classic single-twist systems.

Improved quality with a high output can be obtained by fitting a prestranding unit. This "work station" generally operates at twice the rotational speed of the subsequent stranding machine. The cable structure obtains its final length of lay after passing through. However, without any countertorsion from the main strander, the braided wire would spring up, but half the rotational speed of the machine only allows a 50% backtwist and the braided wire geometry is obtained. The material to be stranded runs into the main unit and at the 2nd diversion point it again obtains its predefined final length of lay.
